So it was with great excitement when I learned that one
of my
favorite authors who writes
about the church, was publishing a
book about Jesus.
Everyone has personal
favorites, and I would like to close with a few
of the
books I have enjoyed with my children: Noel Streatfield's
books about families with dancing children, including Ballet Shoes and Dancing Shoes; Cotton in My Sack and Indian Captive,
books of historical fiction by Lois Lenski; the hilarious picture
book Seven Silly Eaters by Mary Ann Hoberman; the gentle moral tale
of Rose, «who didn't work any harder than she had to»; Seven Loaves
of Bread, by Ferida Wolf; and the accurate depictions
of family life in both Joanna Harrison's When Mom Turned into a Monster and Jean van Leeuwen's delightful Oliver and Amanda Pig stories.
The first look at sustainability, and how we're supposed to care
about the Earth, is in our two
favorite books of the Bible: Leviticus and Numbers, where it talks
about crop rotation and animal husbandry.
If someone was born in Saudi Arabia, they would be Muslim and if they were born in the US, they would be Christian... It's up to them to figure out that religion is a crock before they waste their whole life worshiping a non-existent friend in the sky and believing in a
book full
of fairy tales... My
favorite fairy tale is
about the guy who was told not to look behind and was turned into a block
of salt when he disobeyed the command and took a peak... lol... I was raised christian but I had too many doubts and questions especially after our scandalous pastor took the money that was raised to build a new church building and disappeared into thin air with the loot... lol... After I ditched religion, I had a peace
of mind and I am still at peace...
Oh I cried
about it when it happened, but now the part
of the
book in which I describe that scene is one
of my
favorites.
This has been an amazing fall for
book releases, and Forgive Us was one
of my
favorites, which is why I'm so thrilled to welcome all four authors to the blog today to talk
about corporate confession and its role in the American Church today.
One
of my
favorite parts
of the
book is the section
about the Sermon on the Mount and the «third way»
of turning the other cheek, walking the extra mile, and literally giving up the clothes off our backs.
This is my
favorite quote
of the chapter... maybe even the whole
book: «If we're more opposed, for instance, to what we take to be «bad language» and nude scenes and films
about gay people than we are to people being blown up, starved to death, deprived

favorite things to watch and share is this brief interview with Megan

Finally, the
book includes one

Our
favorite part
of this
book was it's detailed guide
of popular guilty pleasure treats with straight forward facts
about why they are unhealthy, shown with a similar, much healthier alternative on the proceeding page.

book, I'm reminded that it takes two hands to clap.

about a big «ol bear with a hankerin» for pie called Ugly Pie.

Stroller, diapers (3 times as many as you think you need — they don't sell them in airports), wipes (travel pack or 2), disposable changing pads (Target sells»em — very handy for the «ewwwww factor
of changing baby in a public restroom), few

about not dropping / losing them), changes
of clothes (I took 2 for baby, 1 clean shirt for myself),
