about anything else, they often borrow from the Asian and Pacific cuisines to

honey, and turbinado sugar, and fruit juices (apple, apricot, pineapple, mango, etc.) to make light and flavorful basting, marinating & serving sauces.

Unlike Kristi, I thought the muffins were plenty sweet and was thinking
about using LESS
honey next time!
For the double batch I modified it slightly by
using about 3/4 cup raw
honey (I have my own beehives) instead of coconut sugar and I
use 3 whole eggs instead of 2 whole and 2 yolks and bumped baking powder and soda by 1 / 2tsp (helps when baking with
honey).
Carefully
using an oven mitt at all times, remove the pan from the oven and pour the batter into the hot skillet, quickly top the batter with the thin jalapeno slices, drizzle a little more
honey, bake for
about 20 - 25 minutes until a light golden top.
I make something similar to this, but
use dried cherries,
about 1/4 cup, instead of
honey and it is quite sweet and even more fiber...
and

Laura — For a muffin, I wouldn't worry
about throwing off the balance — you could just
use 3T or the like of
honey in with the liquid ingredients.

about using applesauce to make my
honey - based cookies & nut quick - bread (& muffins, etc.) more moist — worked FABulous; but now that I want to try to lessen my

use liquid stevia, can I add some almond milk to keep the liquid part stable?

use that to start with (200g dry ingredients / 200g liquid / 100g eggs / 50g oil), and then add in
about 30g of orange juice, or maple syrup, or
honey or < insert liquid of choice here >, so mine are actually a little runnier when they go into the pan.

I made this bread this morning and followed the suggestions of
using honey, room temperature eggs and blending them for
about 7 minutes.
Fab flavour combos, orange white choc and cranberry always go great together — I also
used raw
honey in place of agave as I believe its a more natural, unrefined sweetner (agave isnt as innocent as you might think — read up
about it) As for those of you who wanted to know
about the white choc chips, well I avoid all dairy and refined sugars so I simply made my own, its dead easy — simply combine pure raw cacao butter (gently melted) with a pinch of celtic salt, a little extract of vanilla and some raw cashew butter, then freeze in a suitable container before breaking into chunks!!!!! yummy You can make dark chocolate chips even easier by melting pure coconut oil and stirring in a little vanilla,
honey and raw cacao powder before freezing!!!
Sugar is a permanent exile and my chocolate chips will be sugar free although I do
use xylitol at times, and now that I am following paleo I am
about to add
honey back on my list of allowed foods.
I'm sorry some people give you a hard time
about the vegan thing (
using honey, even when you clearly give the vegan option!).
