orientation... She talks to all of the kittens in a hilarious voice, and tells them what she is
about to do, just in case the kittens understand.
When you are wrapping up your
volunteer orientation, our staff will speak with you
about scheduling depending upon the
volunteer programs you selected.
New
volunteers receive information
about scheduling in our online system, Volgistics, at
orientation.
Orientation takes
about an hour and thirty minutes, after which
volunteers are free to come and go at their own discretion.
At the
volunteer orientation or meeting with shelter staff, you'll learn
about the various roles
volunteers have at the shelter, how the shelter operates, policies and what tasks the shelter needs
volunteer assistance with.
The Volunteer Coordinator directs all new
volunteers to view an
orientation presentation online so they learn
about the mission of Operation Catnip and
about the critical role that
volunteers play in its success.

about The Pet Rescue Center and she started
volunteering as soon as the
orientation class was over!

Orientation provides you with information
about the Santa Barbara Humane Society and the
volunteer program, available
volunteer opportunities, a brief overview of animal handling and safety procedures, and a tour of the facilities.
