There's a delay in
accelerator response from a standing start that I found slightly annoying, but I assume it helps prevent wheelspin and spares everyday drivers from whiplash.

Like the old Benz, the IS 250's oomph
from a stop is modest, though it's better in the drivetrain's Power mode — activated by a dashboard switch — which noticeably hastens
accelerator and transmission
response (at some cost to fuel efficiency).
Not all's good in the neighborhood: There's a slight lag in initial
accelerator response when accelerating
from a stop, even in Sport mode.
Shifting to Sport mode changes the display

response from the
accelerator pedal, gearshift system, rear axle steering, electronically controlled rear axle locking differential or brake force distribution on the all - wheel drive system.

accelerator response is faster and the power boost
from the electric motor is maximized.
