This allows the driver to select from normal, comfort or sport modes to define the desired suspension, steering and
accelerator response settings for any particular journey.

settings of the hill descent and Terrain
Response ™ systems.
These different modes allow the driver to alter the
accelerator response characteristics, engine
response, power steering characteristics, DSC
settings, shift characteristics of the automatic transmission and, if the vehicle is equipped with Adaptive M Suspension, the damping characteristics as well.
The driver can use the «S / C / M» mode button in the centre console to select from the «Sport», «Comfort» and «Manual» shift programmes that not only change the transmission characteristics but also the
accelerator response and the spring / damper
settings of the AMG sports suspension based on Active Body Control.
The ELR's Sport driving mode also contributes to its responsive driving experience, automatically reconfiguring the
accelerator pedal
response to provide quicker torque application and more sensitive feedback to driver inputs through altered suspension and steering
settings.
The spontaneous
response of the engine can now be felt even more intensely due to an optimised
accelerator pedal
set - up.
The driving sensation is also characterised by the
set - up of the
accelerator pedal: the more the driver changes the AMG DYNAMIC SELECT
settings from «Eco» towards «Sport Plus», the more spontaneous and dynamic is the throttle
response of the twin - turbo V6 engine.
This, even if Race mode
sets its variable dampers to their firmest position, invokes the sharpest
responses from its
accelerator, gearbox and steering, while turning stability control off, with only vital rollover protection running in the background.
In Comfort mode, smooth shifts coupled with a «soft»
accelerator response are
set up for silky smooth power transfer.
