Given the success of some efforts to recycle unused stuff (and prevent the creation of more) such as Craigslist, freecycle etc, perhaps it would make sense for some of the green - minded and technologically gifted among us to create gadget recycling services, where they'd accept items deemed unusable, harvest usable parts and recycle the rest.
