accepted on teacher training courses, they don't show the rise in numbers needed to combat previously unmet teacher training targets.

This year is the fifth consecutive year where government targets for
teacher training have been missed, with only 26,000 people being
accepted on to
teacher training courses for 2016 and 2017.
In addition to this, nearly 26,000 people were
accepted to
teacher training programmes in England and Wales in 2016, a decrease of 6.9 per cent
on 2015.
