In iOS 11, mirroring your iPhone or iPad's screen is as easy as
accessing the Control Center.
I strongly believe
accessing the Control Center by swiping from the top - right ear of the iPhone X is going to be better than swiping from the bottom.
This is done by
accessing Control Center from the bottom of the iPad screen.
The large screen offers plenty of room for sweeping up from just outside the screen to
access the Control Center, where you can quickly adjust brightness, audio volume, the clock, the camera, airplane mode and more, and sweeping down to see your daily calendar and notifications.

I totally agree Tom, even on my 6S and iPad mini 4 that both have home buttons I occasionally perform the wrong gesture in order to
access the control center.
Similarly, one can swipe up and pause mid-swipe to access the multi-tasking menu and swipe down from the status bar area (top - right of the screen) to
access the control center.
You can
access Control Center from any screen on your iPhone and iPad, including while your in an app or playing a game.
How to open Control Center on the iPhone X: You can
access Control Center at any time by sliding down from the top right - hand side of the screen from the battery icon.

At times, I find it difficult to
access the Control Center while in an app, which can be quite annoying.
Like Notification Center, you can
access Control Center by swiping up from the bottom.
If
you access the Control Center say while using the Settings app (not the best example), it'll get a whitish translucent background with light blue tint on the left due to the icons for various settings.
Instead, future iPhone X owners will need to slide down from the top - right part of the display to
access Control Center.
I think keyboard shortcuts to
access the Control Center and the Notification Center would have also been quite useful since you have to swipe up and down from the edge of the screen.
