In some passages this second coming of Christ is presented as a visible descent through the clouds, comparable to

The usual explanation is that the present form of the narrative is a combination of J and E; and it is common to illustrate the alleged interweaving of the two
accounts in an analysis of the
first chapter in the tale,
chapter 37.

The early
chapters of Genesis (after the
first one) present an
account of human beginnings largely
in temporal sequence, seemingly as an unfolding
account of early human history.
Eventually he was exonerated by DNA evidence, a fact readers discover
in the
first chapter — which colors one's journey through this labyrinthine
account with incredulity.
