The Green Party
of New York State joined today with other environmental, social and economic justice activists to demand
action on climate change by
government at all
levels.
While sweeping,
government - backed adaptations like this one are particularly exciting, there is plenty
of Drawdown - inspired
action we can take
on an individual
level too.
NCLB has a fairly simple structure: states were required to develop learning standards along with consistent assessments
of student accomplishment
of these standards; schools were required to be
on a glide path to get all
of their students up to a state - defined proficiency
level by 2013; and the federal
government established a series
of corrective
actions — including provision
of supplemental services, broad student choice, and reconstitution — that were required
of individual schools after continual deviation from this glide path.
Higher
levels of government are rarely able to enforce their will
on more than a small fraction
of the entities that fit the criteria for

But when we ignore the value
of subsidiarity and non-state

action on climate change adaptation, acting as a «guide to responsible
actions by natural resource managers and other decision - makers at all

Regardless, it is clear that a very high
level of consultation and accommodation is required once Aboriginal title is proven — particularly when the
