A game that adeptly conveyed the seriousness of
climate change to its audience with the polish of a professional game development studio would be a great way to incite
action on the
issue.

[I] f you care about the environment and seek
action on issues like greenhouse - driven
climate change or conserving the planet's biological riches, you'd do well to focus hard right now
on the debt crisis and other legacies of politics and policies built around sustaining a free lunch culture.
Rather than focussing

action on climate change has never been perceived as a top policy priority relative to other
issues, especially over the past three years given the economic woes.
It sometimes seems that all of the convincing that's done to try to get faster
action on climate change has to do with the «what's in it for me» aspect of the
issue — create green jobs, profit from the new green economy, stop sea level rise from overtaking your city — or
on the stats of the
issue.
That is, the frequency and clarity of articles and opinion pieces regarding the
issue of
climate change can be increased, as they should, without generating as much of the «recoil» that sometimes happens when people hear only of problems, if the Times becomes more clear
on actions that we should take (credible and large ones) to help address and take some control over the matter.
Today, the President will be giving a speech at Georgetown University
on climate change issues, with announcements of initiatives that will be taken leveraging the powers of the Administrative Branch because the Congress is unable (and, to a large extent, unwilling) to take meaningful
action to address
climate change: whether mitigation or adaptation.
Whoever wins won't be in office in time to have a direct impact
on the Paris talks, and President Obama might make
climate change a big
issue in his final days in office and push for
action.
The point is that to argue that «there is no such thing as global terrorism», or that «there is no such thing as global warming» is to fail to take
issue with the idea that evidence of global terrorism or anthropogenic global warming is sufficient argument for the execution of the «War
on Terror», or for «drastic
action'to mitigate
climate change.
To some, this seems to indicate that
climate change these days is seen as very much a tribal
issue - with many Republicans as vehemently opposed to the very notion of man - made
climate change, as some Democrats are for all for strong
action on it.
