social skills found that «solid» training approaches included sequenced activities to achieve skill objectives,
active learning, and explicit focus on personal or
social skills.

social studies, and their roles as students became less
active as they
learned how to take notes and started taking tests.
Prior
studies have suggested students respond better to programs that reinforce
social learning throughout the school and at home, but this
study found that programs with more components were less likely to follow any — not to mention all — of the best practices of sequenced,
active lessons based on explicit goals and focus on each goal for enough time.
