Escamilla et al. (2002) found that there was no difference between sumo and
conventional deadlifts in respect of adductor EMG amplitude while Pereira et al. (2010) found that the back squat with outwardly - rotated feet led to superior adductor muscle
activity than the back squat with parallel feet.
