Sony's UX series VAIO UMPCs were, with their tiny slide - out
keyboards and futuristic design, innovative enough to still show up in motion pictures as space - age props long after their
actual hardware was outdated.
The BlackBerry 10 touchscreen
keyboard was pretty good on the Dev Alpha demo, but the performance is much improved on the
actual BlackBerry 10
hardware and software (on the Dev Alpha device the touch
keyboard was actually written in Adobe Air.
Also, with the
keyboard it's only $ 50 more than the iPad 2 and being able to type on
actual hardware is quite useful.
In the end, as searching stuff online and writing report are much better with an
actual keyboard, Chromebook + paper win in the end — even from simple
hardware perspective, never mind IT and cost.
In the above screenshot, you will see that my Digital Media
Keyboard 3000, Notebook Optical Mouse 3000 and LifeCam Show all show up with
actual product images making it much easier to work with the
hardware.
