Ads Preferences Manager, you can edit the
list of inferred interest and demographic categories that Google has associated with your cookie or opt - out of the cookie entirely.
Right now, users can see which advertiser
lists they are included on by viewing the «With your contact info» tab in the «Advertisers you've interacted with» section of the
Ad Preference settings page.
Facebook
Ads, by contrast, target members of the site based on the
preferences they've
listed in their profiles, plus their overall demographics.
Google also posted a master
list of privacy tools they provide, from the aforementioned dashboard to the
ads preference manager, a Chrome Opt - Out extension, how to encrypt your searches, off the record Google chats and more.
You can view a
list of everything Facebook thinks you're into and tinker with your
ad preferences by going to Settings and Adverts.
