In a recent study
on early adaptation to school in young children, McIntyre and colleagues (2006) found that children who had a higher degree of
adaptability and intelligence at 36 months were less likely to exhibit
behavior problems and more likely to have more positive student — teacher relationship at 60 months than children with lower intelligence and adaptive
behavior scores.
