At speeds above 80 km / h, laser technology enhances the
main beam to increase road visibility to as much as 550 m.
Adaptive Driving
Beam uses a forward - facing camera, to detect oncoming vehicles and manipulates the high
beam, creating «shadows» around the vehicle or vehicles ahead, so you can continue to benefit from high
beam illumination of the road without dazzling other road users.
New light functions for enhanced safety
Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus also benefits from the performance of MULTIBEAM LED technology: thanks to a larger numberof pixels, the dark areas in the light distribution are more precise and dynamic than ever before in partial
main -
beam mode, and the
main beam can beused for longer than before.
In addition to this, Caddy customers can specify
Adaptive Cruise Control, which maintains a set speed and a set distance to the car in front, Light Assist, which dips the
main beam to avoid dazzling drivers of oncoming traffic, and Driver Alert, which detects changes in driving style that could indicate tiredness and sounds a warning.
It also features
Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus, which enables the
main beam to be left on at all times without dazzling others on the road, and uses 84 individually controllable LEDs to light up the way precisely where required.
The optional
Adaptive Main Beam Assist uses a camera on the windscreen to recognise oncoming traffic and vehicles moving ahead, and controls the headlamps so that their
beams do not reach the other vehicle.
There is also a False Travel Warning function that can warn the driver of speed limits and an
Adaptive Highbeam Assist plus which provides a glare - free and continuous
main beam by hiding other vehicles in a remote light zone.
