I used Almond Flour
as a substitute and
added baking powder and salt to create a self rising flour.
Also re the cold flour —
as I am
adding warm coconut oil, never made sense to have cold chickpea flour

There are other egg yolk vegan substitutes that aren't
as protein rich, but can be useful for certain recipes.Bananas and applesauce are popular substitutes, although you'll need to
add baking powder & soya milk for binding and texture in the
baking process.
For extra protein I have used Fit Delis Chocolate vegan protein
powder works perfectly well in any
baking recipes
as it doesn't
add too much sweetness.
However, I've found that
baking powder isn't
as potent
as baking soda, so you usually have to use more of it, or

as add an extra 1/2 teaspoon of
baking powder, because I love insanely buttery, thick pancakes.
