So I drove up onto the curb (I currently live in an apt) to get the
radiator cap at the highest point, topped it off, started it, and gradually
added fluid until it seemed truly couldn't accept anymore
coolant.
I have just recently changed the
radiator in my vehicle upon changing noticed smoke coming out of the
coolant resivour as I
added water into the resivour it was getting oil into the
coolant system.
Do I need to run the engine with the
radiator cap off whenever I
add coolant to the
radiator or only when I drain / flush the system?
If the driver
adds coolant to the
radiator until it is full, the light may stay lit until the
radiator has properly cycled.
The
radiator has been flushed and new
coolant added a year ago.
