Plus, it tastes incredibly satisfying — the kale and sweet potatoes make a hearty combination, and the
coconut milk
adds just the right amount of smoothness (without a
real coconut taste).
I also
added coconut oil because I wanted that same comfort food feel to the cinnamon roll oatmeal that you get from the
real deal.
A little bit of chopped dark chocolate makes these bars taste like a
real treat, and some mineral - rich Anthony's
coconut sugar
adds just the right touch of sweetness.
REAL coconut water doesn't have that much sugar... the kind in my grocery store has
added sugar though.
I
add lemon juice or vinegar to almond milk or
coconut milk when baking a recipe that calls for buttermilk, but it never
adds the tenderness nor the tang of
real buttermilk.
So I
add just a bit of salt to these
coconut oil chocolates, but I make sure that my salt is the
real deal, a nice sea salt instead of table salt that has been bleached and treated with all sorts of chemicals that likely are dangerous and certainly affect the taste of the final product.

When you start
adding things like
coconut milk to the equation, as this recipe does, you are only making it more and more like
real ice cream.
Add more healthy fat (
coconut - LOL, avocado, nuts, seeds, olive oil,
real mayonnaise or butter) to the carbohydrate so that your body can feel full (or will eventually trigger satiety if the signal is getting lost due to inflammation damage).
