Back in January, I told you I didn't love the tiles and that I really wanted to
add white subway tiles.
^ ^ ^ with the help of our awesome friend thomas, we took out the laminate countertop (you can see what it looked like in a few photos above) and replaced it with a simple white counter, and
we added a white subway tile backsplash behind the counter.
Not exact matches
I did this by combining sleek new pieces, like the gold Kohler Purist faucets and the clean round mirror, with timeless finishes, like the classic
subway tile for the shower walls, and the
white hex tile for the floors, as well as
adding in some vintage pieces like this walnut credenza.
The kitchen pros at Drury Designs chose this brown
subway tile to
add contrast to an all
white kitchen — and to make the space appear larger, because the glass tile reflects light.
So, for the shower, we went for basic
white subway tile, but opted for the pattern above with dark grout, to
add a graphic element.
To make this splash of green really stand out, HGTV fan dezignrogue
added white floor - to - ceiling
subway tiles to cover up old attic stairs and
add a vintage feel.
We
added cabinets, the breakfast bar, open shelving for a pantry and open shelving on the wall for dishes, painted everything and
added the laminate floors and bright
white subway tiles.
TRG Home Concepts kept the rest of this bathroom crisp and clean with
white paint and
subway tile, and the black and
white striped Roman Shade
adds a shot of interest and dimension while maintaining the modern vibe of the room.
In my previous kitchen (photo above), I mixed up our mostly
white Shaker style cabinetry with this mahogany wood cabinet trimmed with bamboo and
added the soapstone counter on this cabinet to contrast with the
subway tile and then the Brazilian cherry wood counters in the rest of the room.
The
white and black color palette lends a clean and classy look to this kitchen with the matte
subway tiles
adding a unique touch.
Adding a little glam factor with a chrome or silver pumpkin up against a classic
white subway tile makes me happy.
I did some «budget - friendly» renovating of my kitchen 2 yrs ago, stripping old wallpaper, putting in the
subway tile backsplash,
adding bright
white beadboard halfway up walls and on the existing
white cabinet ends, painting the rest of the walls soft
white (sometimes looks very very pale yellow).
, but it is great to see it all freshened up now painted
white and with the
added tongue and groove vertical paneling,
subway tile and new counters.
White subway tile was affordable (and I wanted a lot of it), timeless and would
add just the right amount of texture and light and wouldn't compete with our floors.

The texture in the stone
subway tiles and the island's wood grain
add a casual feeling to the traditional
white kitchen.
Instead of a massive renovation, Casey suggested replacing the dark granite counters with a much lighter
white marble as well as
adding lighter
subway tiles to the backsplash, which resulted in a brighter, more inviting space for the family to come together and the homeowners to entertain.
The initial ideas though of a ceiling with a 1 × 8 v - groove pine with fresh trim were painted in Benjamin Moore
White Dove, the standard (3 × 6)
subway tile on the walls, additional lighting was
added, and the standard hex tile with a gray grout all ended up being implemented in our space.

white palette (floors, walls,
subway tile),
add gold (light fixtures, hardware, art, mirror, accents, etc...
