I did not want the sides to be plain so I thought
adding gold spray paint would help make them seem more complete.

To
add color to the tree I
sprayed painted the pine cones and
added gold ornaments.
To
add some shine, texture, and warmth to the table I used votive candles in varying heights in metallic
gold with a scatter of acorns, some of which were found in my yard under the oaks (that were
spray painted in my favorite
gold spray paint I recently wrote about here) combined with a store bought scatter mix (found here).
To
add detail to the door edges, I
spray painted trim in
gold to match the fish and glued it in place with wood glue.
After I let the black
spray paint dry I taped off the bottom of the feet and used some
gold spray paint to
add a little accent.

Here's a fun idea and an inexpensive way to
add some holiday cheer to your fridge — just buy a set (or two if you want doubles of some of the letters) of children's plastic magnet letter,
spray paint them
gold, and then use them to display holiday greetings quickly and chicly.
You can
add another layer of
spray paint inside your object — like
gold or black.
On my newly refinished restoration hardware inspired end table, I
added the last thrift store makeover... the little ceramic vase that I
spray painted
gold!
