Once you start
adding lucuma powder to cookies, smoothies, and many other desserts you might be hooked for life.
I would recommend holding out on the mix - ins till the morning of, and
adding the lucuma at that time too!
For starters
I added Lucuma powder.
I think i might
add some Lucuma as well.
We've
added lucuma, carob, cinnamon, and vanilla to balance the flavor profile of this bar which will not leave that lingering stevia aftertaste!
My go - to is pretty similar except I always
add lucuma, it adds a caramelly vibe to chocolately fudgey bites and is so delicious.
Not exact matches
I'd though about
adding some yogurt to the mix, but decided I didn't want to mask the
lucuma too much.
Superfood oatshake —
Add a tablespoon of
lucuma, maca, maqui, etc..
To the «cheesecake» layer I have
added YourSuperfoods Energy Bomb blend which is a mix of Acai, Guarana, Maca and
Lucuma.
With
added vanilla, cashew nut butter, unrefined coconut sugar and
lucuma powder, this bar still retains its deliciously creamy taste.
We also
add a dash of
lucuma powder to give a subtle caramel flavour.
Scoop out the coconut cream and
add it to a mixing bowl with the
lucuma powder and vanilla.
Lucuma will
add an extra bit of sweetness!
The nectar is naturally sweetened with dates, and
lucuma powder, and for some extra boost of nutrients, and energy, I
added maca root powder.
I like using
lucuma in recipes for sweetness because it
adds a nice flavor (almost like maple syrup) and is incredibly low in sugar.
I
added extra maca and
lucuma as I didn't have mesquite on hand and I subbed chlorella for the spirulina.
We
add cashew nut butter, unrefined coconut sugar and
lucuma powder to give a deliciously creamy taste.
I've
added a couple of tablespoons of
lucuma powder to these a few times, and it was delicious (I imagine camu camu, maca, or maqui would be, too).
You can
add nuts, seeds, and any additional powders (e.g. cocoa, maca powder,
lucuma powder), spices (e.g. cinnamon, cloves, ginger), and flavorings (e.g. vanilla extract, orange peel, almond essence) to your batter, too.
Now either
add your icing sugar (or your maple syrup mix) and the
lucuma and vanilla powder.
Cacao,
lucuma and cinnamon
add a touch of sweetness without any extra sugar, as well as a pop of anti-inflammatory goodness.
Apart from my powdered organic greens, I also like to
add other superfoods such as Maca and Ashwaganda (adaptogenic herbs for hormonal balance and energy),
Lucuma, Acai and Raw Cacao (for sweetness and antioxidants),, E3 live (for
added minerals, vitamins and chlorophyll) and of course, as mentioned above, Chia seeds and Flax seeds.
I've been looking around at other recipes for similar sorts of bars... a lot of the vegan versions use
Lucuma powder as a substitute for egg white — it has a slightly sweet flavour, but it's low GI and
adds other vitamins and minerals.
Lime
adds a citrusy zing, and
lucuma and cashews provide some nutty flavor!
(and any other superfoods... I
added extra maca +
lucuma!)
I didn't want to turn this baking session into a binge session, so I swapped Chocolate for Raw Cacao powder, I also
added a blend of Maca Powder,
Lucuma Powder & Hemp Protein to give my cookies a nutritious boost.
Although it's great for flavouring, don't expect
lucuma powder to
add a lot of sweetness.
