Back in the early 1990s, engineers made a remarkable discovery:
adding nanometre - sized particles to a liquid makes it far more effective at carrying away heat than anyone expected.
Back radiation can not be
added to solar flux when determining the surface temperature and, in fact, it does not penetrate warmer water by more than a few
nanometres.
