children who have
additional needs resulting from chronic illness, intellectual disability, or
behaviour or developmental difficulties might be more at risk of developing academic
problems or difficulties with relationships at school.
The intervention comprises parent
behaviour management training with
additional components that address parents» personal and relationship issues, parent -
child interaction therapy, and
children's social
problem - solving training that incorporates emotion management training.
While many applications of the model have explored the combination of
child ASD symptomatology and / or
behaviour problems with life stress,
child adaptive functioning (i.e. daily living skills), a characteristic which Hall and Graff [4] identified as demonstrating strong associations with adaptation in families of
