- If you'd like to keep the pecan
cream sauce oil - free, you can replace the oil with 1 tablespoon water or
additional milk; however, the texture is simply amazing with the oil in there to emulsify it, so I highly recommend leaving it in!
Pour
cream sauce into the pot with the vegetables and stir together (don't forget to add the
additional 1 1/2 cups of water... see recipe below).
You can dip them in caramel
sauce or even whipped
cream for
additional yumminess.
If you are making vegetable enchiladas or are using a vegetable - based
sauce, add depth by topping with
additional cheese and a drizzle of crema (Mexican sour
cream).
As noted in their directions above, they call for starting with 1-1/2 cups and adding
additional cream until the desired
sauce consistency is reached.

If the
sauce is too thick, add about 1/2 tablespoon - 2 tablespoons of
additional heavy
cream to thin out.
Off heat, beat in
additional cream by spoonfuls to smooth out the
