When I discovered my mistake, we all agreed
the additional syrup wasn't needed.
The cocoa based cake is really moist and soft, doesn't need
any additional syrup to get it moist and melt in your mouth.
The oats are lightly sweetened with maple syrup;
additional syrup can be added to each serving to find the ideal level of sweetness.
I changed the recipe up just slightly from the original omitting the nuts, some of
the additional syrup and the powdered sugar — no need to have a sugar OVERLOAD!
