Although the full and partial mediating role of life satisfaction (Model 1 and Model 2) was not supported by the present findings, this is not to say that the mediating role of life satisfaction should be denied — these models still showed
adequate fit indices, but both models were slightly poorer when compared with Model 6.

Generally, both solutions showed
adequate fit to the data, with all
fit indices within acceptability criteria and significant factor loadings, all in their intended factor with no exceptions.
Overall, the
fit indices indicate that the model displayed an
adequate fit for the sample (Bentler, 1990).
Given the fact that the
fit indices were acceptable or near - acceptable and given the fact that they were very similar to the
fit indices obtained for group A, it can be concluded that model 3 also provided an
adequate fit for group B.
Confirmatory factor analyses revealed
adequate to good
fit indices for all three models, although the unitary factor model provided the most parsimonious summary of the data.
