adequate transportation can be arranged).
Mental illness is an under recognized public
health concern and travelers are often unable to access
adequate emergency psychiatric care when
traveling away from their own physician and support system.
Consideration should be given to purchasing special medical evacuation insurance for airlifting or air ambulance to an area with
adequate medical care (see Chapter 2,
Travel Insurance,
Travel Health Insurance, & Medical Evacuation Insurance).
