advise their bright pupils to apply to Oxbridge, according to a new poll published by the Sutton Trust
Just one - fifth (21 per cent) said they always
advised their bright pupils to apply and a quarter (28 per cent) said they usually did.

pupils do score slightly higher at GCSE, much of this is explained by prior levels of attainment, meaning that
bright pupils do just as well in the best comprehensives as they do in grammars.
