His wired coat can be rough or smooth, though the smooth -
coated affenpinscher will still have feathering on his legs and a ruff around his neck.
Also Affenpinschers are not that difficult to live with, so fewer owners tend to give up on them and dump them into Rescue.
Fun fact: did you know the Miniature Schnauzer originated in 19th Century Germany, and was the result of
crossing Affenpinschers with Poodles?

winning Affenpinscher, a five year old male (intact) known as Banana Joe, hails from Allenboro, Massachusetts and is part of the Toy Group.
