after me like one of her own children and gave me a natural remedy of fresh celery sticks brewed in water to ease my stomach.
Of course, you can also do the other way around: stay for an extra night in the Sacred Valley before heading back to Cusco
after your tour or

Machu Picchu such as the Inca trail or the Salkantay Trek.
The
hike generally lasts about 6 hours, reason for which it is necessary to enter the Incan City again, on the next day,
after having spent the night in the village of
Machu Picchu (Aguas Calientes).
After taking the train from Cusco or Ollantaytambo, we will enjoy the Inca site of Chachabamba to see fantastic waterways and fountains then
hike the Inca Trail to a view of
Machu Picchu from Inti Punku, the Sun Gate.
After 45 minutes of
hiking uphill... the tip top of Huayna Picchu (meaning «young peak») at the highest point of
Machu Picchu.
After checkpoint, the
hike was undulating until it was very steep («monkey steps») and then a gradual
hike up to InitPunku where everyone was waiting for the fog to lift and get a glimpse of the Lost city of the Incas -
Machu Pichu.
We continued our
hike down and got to the spot to get a representative view of
Machu Pichu but it was still foggy and
after about 15 - 20 min, we started exploring rest of the sites.
After we visit the most fascinating features of this astounding and mysterious Inca settlement, some will want to take the optional
hike to an amazing overview of the site, while other may prefer to investigate
Machu Picchu's multitude of hidden nooks and corners.
After the tour, you will have time to explore
Machu Picchu on your own and do some optional short
hikes or climb up
Machu Picchu or Huayna Picchu Mountain (only available with 2nd night in AguasCalientes!).
Whilst they are not the nicest thermal baths in the region,
after hiking to or around
Machu Picchu, a relaxing dip might be exactly what you're
after.
If you are not climbing the mountain, or
after you
hike the mountain, you will have free time to explore
Machu Picchu before you return to Aguas Calientes by bus.
You'll definitely need to do that if you want to be at
Machu Picchu for sunrise or stay late in the afternoon (
after most of the tourists have gone), or if you've also got early tickets to
hike up Huayna Picchu.
Either extra
hike may be
hikes after your guided tour of
Machu Picchu and must be arranged ahead of time.
