Today,
after seeing the film again for the first time in years, I feel that Saving Private Ryan is, if not an absolute masterpiece, an extremely powerful and moving work that stands as one of the greatest war films of this or any era.

saw the
film at the Berlin
Film Festival this year, and
after watching this, it really hit me in the gut how much I loved this
film and can't wait to
see it
again.
So confident is this in its brand appeal
after the success of the first
film, there's not a lot of re-capping exposition (prepare to be mystified if you didn't actually read or
see The Hunger Games; I was wishing I had
seen it
again more recently to get back up to speed).
Left with a similar feeling

film i.e. I've just paid good money to

film again but with different actors....
I can appreciate the criticisms leveled here but walking out of the theater
after seeing this movie, I felt excited about
films again and wonderfully engrossed by this well - told story.

film, you'll never
see a lightsaber as a «toy»

see Nicholson and Keaton sparring
again, 22 years
after their last collaboration in «Reds» in 1981 and how often do you get a
film that has veterans such as these two great actors sharing screen time with the successful names of today, like Keanu Reeves and Frances McDormand?
Many people who mocked John Carter before it opened (and afterwards) haven't
seen the
film; the same thing happened with The Lone Ranger this summer — and for this writer, that's a movie that, mostly, deserves to be mocked, though it's best to do so
after seeing the damn thing — and it'll happen
again soon enough, to be sure.

film is centered on a woman who leaves her husband to pursue her own desires, which include a sexual affair (the clothed couple are
