It's supposed to be the «gold standard» of evidence supporting the standard model of cosmology — including dark matter, dark energy and the exponential expansion
after the big bang known as inflation.

I agree with the
big bang guy... if we talk about proof... let's first figure where we all came from... we have all heard this «Well we
know what happened
after the
big bang... but have no clue what came before» well first figure that out... and if you can't in the next 20 years then there has to be something beyond Physics...
I soon realized
after reading much of the science and research (I am a Computer Science Grad) that science theorizes and tries to disprove god but very intelligent people
know that science does not disprove god and that evolution has lots of unanswered questions as well as the
big bang.
«If we
know the initial amounts of stuff in the universe, such as dark energy and dark matter, and we have the physics correct, then you can go from a measurement at the time shortly
after the
big bang and use that understanding to predict how fast the universe should be expanding today,» said Riess.
Just
after the
big bang, our universe was so hot and dense that protons and neutrons couldn't form, and the particles that make them up — quarks and gluons — floated in a soup

The trouble is that no one
knows what could have made that happen — but see Inside inflation:
