Hi, I just made it with
agar powder and it didn't set at all firmly..
Maybe try an extra tablespoon of
agar powder if needed.

Had a bit of trouble getting
the agar powder to the right consistency, but it did set after all and I can honestly say this is the best vegan cheese I have ever eaten — can't believe I made it myself!
Also, make sure you cook it long enough so it activates
the agar powder.
The only concern is I fell into the trap of not letting
the agar powder simmer long enough, that is a biggie everyone.
Maybe try adding a bit more
agar powder to make it firmer.

Agar powder is far more potent than the flakes — when mixing it in I though that it looked a little too much for the recipe.
When I brought
the agar powder / water to a boil, it immediately set up to the consistency of mashed potatoes.
Combine water and
agar powder on in a small saucepot and bring to a boil.
I brought 600 ml of coconut milk to 190F and I dissolved 2gr of
agar powder in it.
VARIATIONS To use agar - agar — Once you've heated the coconut cream to 180 ˚F, whisk in 1/8 -1 / 4 teaspoon agar -
agar powder depending on if you're using coconut cream (1/8 teaspoon) or coconut milk (1/4 teaspoon).
