Air return filters get SO DIRTY (see the horrific one from our last house, above) so it's a really good thing we have a filter now to capture all that dust because without a filter, that dust is IN YOUR ROOM AND LUNGS!

My air return filter looks like yours and it is only a month old.

Since replacing the MAP sensor and
air filter, the exhaust has been clear and the oscillating behavior during idle hasn't
returned, that seems good at least.
They are provided with a complete set including: a turbocharger, intercooler, manifold, all the pipings, blow - off, 550 cc injectors, cold
air intake, all necessary
filters, fuel pump, oil feed lines, oil
return line, and an ECU.
I went so far as to put
filter material on the
return air grilles to catch most of our dog's hair (German Shepherd).
Also before construction starts, plan to put
filter media cloth over your
air conditioning «
return air» vents, and change frequently.
One way I figured out how to dust less is by replacing the
filters in our HVAC system (heating, ventilation and
air condition system, including the
air return vents) regularly.
I know to change the furnace
filter on a regular basis but a
filter for the
air returns is new to me.
Our cold
air returns don't have
filters.
