A new report from Reuters revealed six automakers are
recalling a total of 2.5 million vehicles due to defective
airbag inflators made
by Takata.
Ford, which also manufactures the Lincoln brand, said it was notified of the problem
by Takata and that it is not related to the Japanese company's massive ongoing
recall involving non-desiccated ammonium - nitrate

recalled approximately 34,000 cars in high - humidity states; and Toyota, who
recalled 844,277 models with Takata
airbags earlier this year.

recalls in certain Honda, Nissan, and Mazda models.

recall from Toyota adds to the growing number of vehicles from various manufacturers being

GM says 414 vehicles from the 2015 model year, including the Chevy Equinox, are covered
by Takata's widening
airbag recall.
Toyota is
recalling more than a million Prius, Prius Plug - In and Lexus CT200h vehicles for a problem with side
airbags made
by supplier Autoliv.
