If you purchase
airline gift cards with the reimbursement (some
work) and value those at 80 % of face value that gives you another $ 320 in cash plus $ 200 in uber credit.
You can skip posting about how you haven't gotten your
gift card credited yet — everyone already knows that part isn't
working right now — but if you get an actual
airline fee reimbursed (not Global Entry or an Amex Offers), definitely let us know.

airline is in advance before committing to the
card, and then from there, checking FlyerTalk to make sure you are up - to - date on whether or not the
Gift Voucher purchase situation is still
working with your preferred
airline.

This should
work on
gift cards as long as they are processed directly by the
airline and not a third party (e.g. Cashstar).
Certain
airline gift card purchases in smaller denominations are known to
work.
Certain
airline gift cards will also
work but they need to post to your account as being purchased from the
airline and you'll need to lie to tell customer service that the charge was one of the qualifying purchases listed above.
Again, since the Amex incidental fee credit doesn't technically
work with
airline gift cards, nothing is guaranteed here and you don't have much recourse if you buy a
gift card and it doesn't result in a statement credit to your account.
If the
gift card trick
works with your
airline of choice, you're essentially bypassing this perk's restrictions; once you have a
gift card, you can use it to purchase airfare, even though the Amex incidental fee credit in theory excludes actual ticket purchases.
