miles required for a reward would make award travel impossible for many frequent flier

Specialized websites can supply you with up - to - date information on
airlines and individual frequent - flyer
programs and sometime provide community bulleting boards for asking questions about individual air
mile programs,
such as whether you can use Delta Sky Miles on a Virgin Atlantic flight.
We don't have frequent flyer status with any
airline, or any hotel elite status (since the best luxury hotels,
such as Aman Resorts, Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental and luxury boutique hotels don't belong to loyalty
programs), so our primary
miles and points earning is from credit card signup bonuses, category bonuses, and credit card spend.
Although the
program devaluated last year, AAdvantage is still my favorite
airline loyalty
program, because of the numerous promotions (which earn you shiploads of
miles) and the interesting
airline partners beyond the oneworld alliance (
such as Fiji Airways, Tahiti Nui, and — especially — Etihad Airways).
