Ever since American Express improved its offering on the personal Platinum Card to include 5 points per dollar spent on airfare that has been my go - to card for
airline purchases because, quite simply, I don't like earning miles with one specific airline.

The partnership with Koinz Media is a savvy one
because the company specializes in the platform to safely and securely
purchase any type of digital good or service with their credit card or hotel reward points and
airline miles.
Because airline cards typically give you accelerated rewards for
airline purchases — often 2 miles or more per dollar spent — use the card for airfare, in - flight
purchases and other
airline - related expenses.
A note about their miles: They're not really «miles»
because they can't be used directly with the
airline as miles, they're basically points that convert at 1 % to a cash statement credit you can use to reimburse yourself for travel
purchases you've charged to the card.

Because it's a business card, you also get 2x points on

Still,
because this is a general travel rewards card, you do miss out on a few
airline - specific perks that you get with the Gold Delta SkyMiles ® Business Credit Card from American Express card, such as a free checked bag and discounts on in - flight
purchases.
The reason why Marriott Flight and Hotel packages are often cited as a great use of Marriott Rewards points is
because, essentially, they allow you to
purchase airline miles at a ratio of 1 Marriott Rewards point to 1
airline mile / point... and that's a very good exchange rate.

purchase could net us 11,250 — 12,600
airline miles, half an economy ticket, all
because we bought through the American Express rewards portal.
If you've just started dabbling with loyalty programs and you plan to travel a lot within the next year or two, the American Express Business Platinum card can be an excellent addition to your wallet
because of strong benefits like a $ 200 credit at the
airline of your choice for things like baggage fees and in - flight

Because they're associated with an
airline ticket (the charge had a ticket number associated with it) Amex appears to be coding these kind of
purchases as airfare and awarding 5 points per dollar.
Singapore
Airlines awards miles based on distance flown but,

airline throws in a multiplier based on the class of ticket you
purchase, the cheaper the ticket the fewer miles you will earn.
This is
because the
airline or hotel actually receives payment for your
purchase and then Barclay refunds the costs to you.
That's
because the MPX
purchases will likely code as an
airline purchase and earn you 5X on your
purchases.
American Express Starwood Preferred Guest credit card is one of my favorite credit card,
because Starpoints are very versatile and can be transferred to 31 frequent flyer programs including American, Alaska

Airlines has promotions pretty much every month for buying miles, but they all max out at a 100 % bonus or a 50 % discount (exactly the same offer
because United usually limits the number of miles one can
purchase per year including any possible bonuses to 150K).
Because Discover redeems miles by crediting your travel
purchases directly to your account, you can fly any
airline you want, when you want.
Many cardholders like the option of transferring points to hotel or
airline partners
because it gives them the opportunity to top off another loyalty account — thus earning enough points to make a
purchase — or travel more widely with rewards than they might otherwise.
That's

purchase a more expensive economy ticket, and you're still limited by availability.

That's actually why I suggest the Barclaycard Arrival as one of the top travel credit cards out there,
because you earn 2X miles per $ 1 on all
purchases and you can redeem them for travel — pretty much any travel that you can't normally redeem
airline miles or hotel points for, such as rail tickets, car rentals, even the fees and taxes on award tickets — at a fixed rate of 1 cent per mile plus a 5 % mileage refund, and know you're getting a very decent fixed value or 2.2 % back on your spending.
Because MileagePlus X transactions are categorized as «Travel —
Airline» by Amex, you may even receive category bonuses, such as the 3 points per dollar you can earn on airfare
purchases with the Amex Premier Rewards Gold card (this has yet to be confirmed).
Because I'm aiming for American
Airlines Executive Platinum status this year, I banked my
purchase of Mileage Plan miles to American, which in addition to being a partner
airline, offers special benefits to elite members of Alaska's Mileage Plan.
You're still
purchasing the exact same items directly from the merchant, but
because you started at the
airline shopping portal, you'll earn additional points and miles at a set rate, generally only on the subtotal of your
purchase (excluding taxes and shipping fees).

purchased insurance only
because it was on the Delta
Airlines site.
I placed a claim
because my baggage was delayed when I travelled to Switzerland Feb 12, 2011 and I provided them with my
airline baggage delay claim and after the claim was filed they needed receipts for the items I
purchased until my bags were delivered.
The only plan offered when I
purchased airline tickets was apparently Allianz's «budget plan»
because the only «covered reasons» to amend trip dates include absolutely outrageous events.
The insured was surprised to find that the coverage she
purchased did not reimburse her for the
airline ticket
because the reason for the cancellation was not specifically listed as a covered reason.
Unlike complimentary flights or hotel nights from
airline or hotel programs, there are no blackout dates or capacity restrictions with the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card
because the travel is
purchased through normal channels.
