«We expect airlines to follow
procedures as required and verify any dogs travelling unrestrained in open cabin are trained for handling the large crowds and enclosed environments encountered on
board an
airplane,» Massey said in the statement.
Airplane manufacturers and airlines alike want to try out new cabin designs, seating arrangements and
boarding procedures, but testing those ideas on actual passengers at 40,000 feet is prohibitively expensive, potentially dangerous and impossible to control.
