Although one can't draw any conclusion that this is the factor for the trend, it does
show that instrument and
algorithm changes do have significant impacts on the data.
There was a great article last week in the Wall Street Journal about the fact that Google's efforts to
change the
algorithm on which websites
show up in a search is having an impact and they are emphasizing websites that are mobile friendly.

Instagram today announced that it's making

algorithm to address concerns users have had with the feed for quite some time now.Instagram originally used a chronological feed,
showing the newest Instagram posts first when you opened up the app, but the company
changed that in June of 2016 to display posts based on relevancy.
Zuckerberg also pointed out that Facebook has made

show «fewer viral videos» in an effort to make sure that people's time is well spent.
