So I thought I
'd put my go - to breakfast of
almond butter, banana and dates (which I normally put on buckwheat
toast) into the blender and see what happened.
Love the idea of the
toasted almonds with it, I'll
have to try that — thank you for sharing xx
I love mine with
almond butter, fresh berries and a squeeze of honey but it's also delicious with
toasted nuts, banana slices and just about anything else you
've got in your kitchen.
My oats and
almonds were
toasted and I used a blender because I don't
have a food processor so things were a little chunky.
However, if you
have diabetes / pre-diabetes and you are including bananas as part of a whole meal then I
would just balance them with some healthy fat (avocados, nuts, etc.) You could
have a banana on top of a piece of sprouted whole grain
toast with some
almond butter and that
would be a good option.
Very good... And chickpea stews are great served over couscous that
has been seasoned with lemon, olive oil, a bit of curry powder, allspice, golden raisins or craisins, scallions, and
toasted almonds.

In a change from my regular
Almond French
Toast, I thought I
'd try something new and mix some of my leftover pumpkin puree into the batter.
I didn't
have pomegranate seeds and instead of
almonds I used
toasted pecans and also added orange zest.
I
've also recently purchase some
almond butter from Trader Joe's that
has flax oil and
toasted golden flax seeds mixed in — it is very tasty!
I
had brunch at Explorateur the other weekend and got their avocado
toast AND
almond butter
toast (#YOLO) and both were so delicious!
The salad was fennel, orange slices,
toasted almonds, and I used spinach instead of broccolini (because it is what I
had).
I'm an adult now, so I
've topped these waffles properly: with smooth
almond butter frosting and maple syrup, and I
'd recommend extra chocolate chips and
toasted pecans too.
The last loaf of
almond flour bread I made didn't
have very good taste to eat and even smelled off when trying to
toast it.
When the brownies
have cooled completely, top them with the frosting and then sprinkle with

But how I
've been enjoying it most recently is in an
almond butter dressing, which I
've been drizzling over everything: winter salads, rice bowls, avocado
toasts.
I
have enjoyed a pancake with
almond butter with my morning coffee break every day since — I
toast them lightly in the toaster — on a low setting they thaw but don't
toast!
I
have mine over some couscous with plenty of tomato sauce and a sprinkling of
toasted almond flakes for that extra crunch.
This recipe
has yogurt,
toasted coconut, and pomegranate arils, but to be honest my absolute favorite combination is
almond butter, cinnamon and a pitch of salt.
What's in it: 1 cup steal cut oats 1/2 cup quinoa (any color is fine), rinsed 1 14.5 oz can pumpkin puree 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice (or 2 teaspoons cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger, 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg) 1 tablespoon maple syrup (admit for no sugar added, add more if you like a sweeter oatmeal) 3 1/2 cups water 1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla

toasted or candied pecans, slivered
almonds, roasted coconut chips, (brown sugar or maple syrup if you
have a sweet tooth).
It looks to tasty and the
almonds are extra
toasted... I don't know that I
've ever
had lemon with dark chocolate together in a cake before, so I'm intrigued — as I love both types of cake separately and union seems inevitable
Quinoa
has a wonderful nutty flavor; here it is blended in a salad with
toasted almonds, bell pepper, zucchini, celery, and a lime is squeezed on top.
I
've made a batter like this for french
toast (with banana,
almond milk, etc.) but never waffles.
This is a spring pantry purge, so don't feel stymied by my
almond / buckwheat / sunflower seed / pepita combo — just
toast up whatever you
've got on hand!
The temperature is in Fahrenheit, it is low since the
almonds don't necessarily need baking, just
toasting, and higher temperatures
would cause the balsamic to burn.

almonds you can find,
