Striped Basics are the best... I picked it up on the same day as this
dress and I know how much you loved that one, but I'm not really doing this striped beauty any justice as you can't really see it, though it's a great little comfortable piece for
wearing with sneakers and
also layering it up
like I do here with different textures and tones.
I
also really
like that it can be
worn as a sun
dress (it's a light fabric) too.
Light flowy skirts and
dresses made of materials
like chiffon are
also great to
wear when the weather is hot.
But because the skirt has an elastic waistband, you can
also wear it
like a
dress!
And you
also don't want to be really
dressed up if you're just heading to a local hole in the wall (
like I wouldn't want to show up to a bar
wearing this outfit).
I love this sweater because I can
wear it a little more
dressed up,
like this, with heels, or
also I could put cute sweats on with it and have a whole new look.
Plus,
wearing a
dress as a skirt would
also be a great option if you're doing a capsule wardrobe (
like we discussed in the last post) to get more outfits out of a few items.

Thinking you could
also save and (with some finishing on the cut edge)
wear the collar of the shirt
like a choker to complement the
dress, especially if it's one of those men's shirts where the collar is a different colour / pattern from the body of the shirt.
I
also wear a lot of grey, both because I work at an office in DC, so there's a
dress code of sorts, and
also because I actually rather
like grey.

also too short, which made it look
like I was
wearing the
dress in a child's size.

dress that I made from Japanese printed silk my mother had bought and kept for sixty years (it's just a giant square with a hole fro my neck and two for my arms, and has the best drape EVER owing to its being silk)

dresses with stylish jackets & strapless blouses are designed just
like the one
worn by Kiera Knightly on her wedding day, so this choice is
also available now, you can get tea length & knee length ruffled frock styles and A-line tea length
dresses.
Especially with the grey
dress (
also fabulous without the white blouse, but I know you don't
wear it
like this) as all the emphasis is on the necklace then (and your gorgeous figure).
Inspiring is
also your outfit with today — for me it's okay to
wear a black
dress in summer: especially if the
dress is so beautiful and stylish
like yours!

like to be able to
