Maybe if that helps during the day it might have a knock on effect at nightime too... Obviously you don't want to get to a stage where he'll only fall asleep in the pushchair but maybe one nap a day try it and another nap let him go in his cot... Or whatever fits with you, but this was something I found to work for us
