My cousin is a seasoned cook, and her girls have
always helped out in the kitchen (in fact, Angelina is the one who came up with the idea for our Peppermint Ice Cream Sandwiches).

I can remember countless times being
in the
kitchen with my two brothers and my Mom, making a huge batch of chocolate chip cookies, and it was
always so much fun to
help mix up the batter, carefully scoop
out the cookie dough on the pans, and wait anxiously until the timer went off and they were cool enough to eat.
I make her
help me unload the dishwasher and fold laundry, and put away her own clean clothes, and of course she's
always welcome to
help in the
kitchen or with whatever I'm doing; we read together often, and we play card games and board games; but if she wants to hang
out in her room playing wedding with her stuffed animals, or lie around reading Teen Titans comics, or do somersaults on our bed — great.
Until recent changes
in the law, my best friend has
always taken her boys to their local soup
kitchen to
help out on Christmas, and I'd love for my boys to learn that selflessness.
So, I am
always looking for easy and delicious ways to
help me
out in the
