While multitasking takes a little while to get used to (whenever I hand the PlayBook over to someone new to try they
always have difficulty figuring out how to return to the home screen and
switch between apps), once you get the hang of it, it's pretty intuitive.
However, I
always like to have options and
switch between different
apps depending on what's needed.
Of course, LARGE displays where you
always have the taskbar showing and some open desktop area to quickly
switch between some
apps is
always the best depending on how you position them on the display overlapping.
On the Nexus 6P, there's almost
always a bit of lag when
switching between apps.
Even performance and RAM intensive games like Pokemon GO stayed in RAM throughout the day, and
switching back and forth
between any number of
apps almost
always resulted in an instant launch of the
app.
But even if you're not
switching PCs, Windows has an annoying habit of not
always sending notifications until you shift focus
between apps, or resume working from sleep or hibernation.
There has
always been Alt + Tab to
switch between open
apps, but over the last two decades Microsoft has dabbled with various other methods including Windows + Tab and a switcher menu in Windows 8.
Swiping down on the main interface to bring up settings wasn't
always 100 per cent responsive, while
switching between apps on some (but not all) occasions would briefly hang.
