One of the trends that will likely dominate this year's MWC is the abandonment of
the analog headphone jack, but Samsung looks to be resolutely sticking with it in the Galaxy S9.
That could include stuff like an edge - to - edge display with no side bezels, new look for the phone's antenna stripe, or dropping the familiar
analog headphone jack in favor of a digital Lightning - driven listening solution.
Since the phone still rocks
the analog headphone jack, you won't have any issues with finding compatible headphones.
Clearly, this is referring to the fact that the iPhone 7 is rumored to have
no analog headphone jack.
In November of 2015, a report by Japanese website Mac Otakara (per MacRumors) first reported on a «reliable source» claiming Apple was dropping
the analog headphone jack.
Apple slid 2.6 percent a day after the consumer electronics giant introduced its newest slate of products, including a new iPhone that doesn't come with
an analog headphone jack.
Not exact matches
The DualShock 4 uses Bluetooth and is largely the same as its predecessor, save for some tweaks (like merging the Start and Select buttons into one, and the introduction of new, concave
analog sticks, which are unfortunately not offset, Xbox - style) and a few new features: a
headphone jack, a Share button, a touchpad, and a light bar.
While some proprietary tri-wing fasteners are used, along with some adhesive, most of the components, including the
analog sticks, game cartridge reader, battery, and
headphone jack are modular and can be replaced.
But it's nonetheless an annoyance for folks — much of the Digital Trends staff included — who've long carried a pair of
analog,

headphones that don't natively support USB Type - C audio.
It's got its good points, like the Xbox - style staggered
analog stick layout and one piece d - pad, but the lack of a
headphone jack and other key DualShock 4 features might be a dealbreaker.
With the loss of the

analog headphones with USB Type - C — one more thing to carry and potentially break or lose.
