In our survey of the
animal charity field, we found that laboratory
animal groups received less funding than farm
animal advocacy groups and far less funding than companion
animal advocacy groups.
We would also expect other farm
animal advocacy groups to be more similar in effectiveness to our top
charities than to
animal shelters, since much of the difference in effectiveness is due to the type of programs organizations run, rather than to unique organizational characteristics
