Such ethical motivations have been codified under various religious
beliefs, along with the concept of
animal rights.
I was a hardcore
animal rights activist vegan for three years, at a time when I was also teaching publicly and espousing a lot of those
beliefs to others.
People become vegan for various reasons which can include, but are not limited to; environmental implications,
animal rights, health issues relating to meat digestion, religious or spiritual
beliefs, taste or simple personal preference.

With the
belief that the «solution» to all dog and cat suffering lies in their eventual extinction, the contemporary

right to life of another species is, I believe, one of the first new cultural concepts to appear in human culture, which for more than 2000 years has been predicated on the
belief that all
animals were created for the benefit of and use by humans.
